President Donald Trump tapped Janine Pirro to be his next interim U.S. attorney for Washington, D.C. Here's what to know.

“Jeanine is incredibly well qualified for this position, and is considered one of the Top District Attorneys in the History of the State of New York. She is in a class by herself,” he wrote in a Truth Social post announcing her appointment.

Trump conceded to reporters that his previous nomination for the post, Ed Martin, "wasn’t getting the support from people that I thought.”
