Ryan Egelston is being held in Denver’s Downtown Detention Center on investigation of attempted first-degree murder after Sunday’s shooting at Washington Park.

A 28-year-old Lakewood man arrested in Denver on Sunday after a shooting in Washington Park now faces charges of attempted murder, according to police.

A 28-year-old has been identified as the suspect who allegedly shot a man in Denver's Washington Park on Sunday.

One unidentified victim was shot and taken to the hospital by paramedics, police said. As of 3 p.m., the victim was still alive and expected to survive.

Denver police are investigating a shooting at Washington Park, the popular 155-acre park that spans several blocks, Sunday afternoon. Few details were immediately available but DPD said it was investigating a shooting there around 2:45 p.m. Multiple Denver cruisers were seen racing to the park with lights and sirens on.
