BET+ has ordered its first ever adult animated series, "Lil Kev," based on the childhood of comedian Kevin Hart. The half-hour series, from Hart's Hartbeat shingle, is set to debut this spring. Hart will executive produce and also provide the voice for the lead character,

" Lil Kev ," a half-hour show created by the Emmy-nominated comedian for BET+ through his Hartbeat entertainment company, will be the first adult animated series on the streamer. The series, set in 1993 Philly, follows a 12-year-old Hart whose youthful optimism continuously collides with the harsh realities of his neighborhood.

The legendary comedian will share his life as a 12-year-old in North Philly in the raw, uncut and unfiltered series.

BET+ has added its first adult animated comedy, inspired by Kevin Hart’s childhood. Lil Kev is a half-hour series that takes a humorous, satirical, and subversive approach to real-life issues he experienced with no-holds-barred comedy and no words off limits.

BET+ and Kevin Hart’s Hartbeat have announced Lil Kev, the first original adult animated series for BET+. Created from the mind of actor, stand-up comedian and executive producer Kevin Hart, Lil Kev is set to premiere in the spring of 2025.
