People Magazine's new Sunrise on the Reaping excerpt highlights the morning of Haymitch's reaping, but one new book detail makes it so much worse.

It’s almost time to take another trip to the devastating world of Panem, this time to explore one of the darkest years in the history of the Hunger Games. The 50th edition of the Games, also known as the second Quarter Quell,

The new Hunger Games book, Sunrise on the Reaping, is all about grumpy mentor Haymitch Abernathy’s Hunger Games. Haymitch had a particularly awful Hunger Games; in his Quarter Quell, there were double the amount of Tributes in the arena.

Sunrise on the Reaping will dive into the 50th Hunger Games and second Quarter Quell, which trilogy fans will recognize as the Games of victor Haymitch Abernathy of District 12. Catching Fire peeks into Haymitch’s Games during a scene in which Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark watch it on tape.
