An area estimated to be as large as 1,000 football fields has been covered in oil so far. While clean-up methods are underway, big spills are difficult to contain.

The oil spill can be seen in the satellite images to be moving out of Trinidad and Tobago's marine area and into Grenada's southernmost marine area, which is feared to affect nearby Venezuela.
