New York’s top court has been asked to reverse a ruling against a law that would allow noncitizens to vote in New York City municipal elections.

ALBANY, New York — New York’s top court is set to consider whether documented noncitizens can vote in New York City elections — a legal battle that’s tailor-made to catch the eye of the Oval Office.

The law was previously struck down by two lower courts that found the measure violated the state's constitution.
