Ange Postecoglou says Micky van de Ven could return for Tottenham in Thursday’s Europa League tie against Elfsborg, while James Maddison is expected to be sidelined for between two and three with a calf injury.

Tottenham Hotspur's under-fire manager Ange Postecoglou finally had some better injury news as he confirmed defender Micky van de Ven will feature against IF Elfsborg on Thursday.

Last month, Van de Ven issued an injury update by captioning his Instagram post: “On the way.” Now, Tottenham insider Paul O’Keefe has revealed that Van de Ven is “on course to be included in Thursday’s squad” for his side’s contest against IF Elsborg in the Europa League.

Tottenham continue to limp through the season with a lengthy injury list as they host Swedish club Elfsborg in the final league phase match of the Europa League.

Tottenham Hotspur have been handed a boost with the return of centre back Micky van de Ven in training after the Dutchman recovered from a hamstring injury, the Premier League club said on Tuesday. The 23-year-old Netherlands international was out of action since picking up the injury in Spurs' 4-3 home loss in the London derby against Chelsea early in December.
