I also know, as a parent, that I have signed those logs in the car on Friday because my precious daughters asked me to sign one. Sometimes, I could not remember if they read the required time or not.

To the editor: The closing of schools, the drawing of new school boundaries and the reduction of personnel have been the focus of parents, the school board and administrators in recent months.

Parents in 19 states are receiving letters from schools about their children's weight . ... science and reading. But they’re flunking compassion, empathy, tact and sensitivity.
