BATON ROUGE, La. – Due to inclement weather, Saturday’s game versus South Carolina has been postponed. LSU and South Carolina will play a doubleheader Sunday, March 30, beginning at 1 p.m. CT.

South Carolina softball coach Ashley Chastain Woodard and her team lost five games in a row following their 20-0 start, but the Gamecocks have bounced back in a big way. USC has won three series against top-15 opponents since then and knocked off the rival Clemson Tigers in the mid-week.

LSU’s softball series against South Carolina started with a dominant blowout but fizzled out into a doubleheader sweep by the No. 10 Gamecocks Sunday at Tiger Park.

The No. 10/11 South Carolina softball team (27-7, 4-5) earned a doubleheader sweep on Sunday (Mar. 30) to earn the series victory over No. 3/3 LSU (31-4, 6-3). The Gamecocks took game one 5-3 in eight innings and secured the series with a 4-1 win in game two.

Led by MiLaysia Fulwiley's 16 second-half points off the bench, South Carolina was able to come from behind and hang on for a 71-67 win. As a team, the Gamecocks bench outscored their starters 40-31. Without the bench scoring, the Gamecocks would've exited the tournament much earlier than expected.

The women's Final Four is set. UConn vs UCLA and Texas vs South Carolina will face off for a spot in the National Championship. Tickets are on sale.

A fifth straight trip to the Final Four is on the line for the Gamecocks. Duke is back in the Elight Eight for the first time since 2013.
