Jose Altuve has played in nearly 1,800 MLB games in what probably will be a Hall of Fame career, with 1,765 of them at second base. But in 2025, the Houston Astros veteran is moving out to left field for much of the season. And as we've seen in spring training (see below), he's had some trouble out there.

In Jose Altuve’s 15th major league season, he will be (primarily) playing a new position. The nine-time All-Star, who has only played either second base or shortstop in his career, will officially be the team’s main left fielder to start the season, Houston manager Joe Espada told reporters Wednesday.
