President Donald Trump wasted no time signing an executive order Monday that aims to give him more control over the federal workforce – whom he has long vilified as the “deep state.”

The orders include declaring a national emergency to deploy military personnel to the border, suspending refugee resettlement and ending birthright citizenship.

The president withdrew the country from the Paris climate agreement, and promised he would be pardoning people prosecuted over the Jan. 6, 2021, attack at the Capitol.
