Billboard Women in Music 2025 Universal’s live action adaptation of DreamWorks cartoon hit How to Train Your Dragon hasn’t opened yet (June 13), but the studio is so over the moon about it, they’ve greenlit a sequel.

Two months ahead of the release of the “How to Train Your Dragon” remake, Universal has already announced that it will remake the second installment of the DreamWorks animated trilogy, set for release on June 11, 2027.

The studio announced during its presentation at CinemaCon on Wednesday that the live-action feature sequel is set for theatrical release on June 11, 2027. The first live-action How to Train Your Dragon, based on DreamWorks Animation ‘s hit 2010 animated movie of the same name, is coming out June 13.
