"Confidence continues to increase in a band of heavy snow developing across the region late Tuesday night into Wednesday. This will start as rain, and quickly transition to a heavy, wet snow, with snowfall rates of an inch per hour or greater," the NWS says.

Yosemite was placed under an updated winter storm watch by the National Weather Service on Saturday at 4:47 a.m. The watch is valid from Sunday 5 p.m. until Monday, Mar. 17 at 11 p.m.
