The Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority announced Monday that light rail service has resumed on part of the system for the first time since the end of the strike, while repairs continue in other areas.

The orange line may potentially return to service Monday afternoon, while the blue and green lines will take more time before resuming, the VTA said on social media. Bus service resumed Friday and was met with the gratitude of riders who were left without their normal transportation routes for more than two weeks.

The order means South Bay transit workers must return to work immediately — but it’s unclear how long it will take for all transit services to resume.
