Silicon Valley commuters are feeling the pain of digging deeper into their wallets on a daily basis due to the ongoing VTA worker strike. To compensate for the extra outlay, VTA is partnering with Uber to support riders while bus and light rail services are down.

On Monday night, the agency announced it will offer vouchers up to $5 for each ride with a maximum of two rides per day. Rides must begin and end at a VTA bus or light rail stop and must be ordered on Uber’s mobile app, according to the VTA.

The Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority, or VTA, announced it is providing riders with two five-dollar Uber vouchers every day. That’s to help cover some of the transportation costs during a strike between the agency and transit workers.
