President Donald Trump's administration asked the U.S. Supreme Court on Wednesday to intervene in his bid to fire three Democratic Consumer Product Safety Commission members by putting on hold a judicial order calling for their reinstatement.

President Donald Trump’s administration on Wednesday asked the Supreme Court to step in on an emergency basis to permit the firing of three members of the Consumer Product Safety Commission, as the White House continues to attempt to assert more control over independent agencies.

In an interim ruling in a similar case in May, the Supreme Court ruled that the president court terminate leaders of two other independent agencies.
