Tennessee Emergency Management (TEMA) Director Patrick Sheehan issued the State of Emergency Wednesday night ahead of a line of severe storms moving into West Tennessee, including the Memphis metro area.

Gov. Bill Lee and Tennessee Emergency Management Agency Director Patrick Sheehan have issued a State of Emergency as severe weather moves into the Volunteer State Wednesday evening. Lee has also requested an Emergency Declaration for Tennessee ahead of the forecasted severe weather.

Many in Middle Tennessee woke up Thursday to several volleys of tornado warnings, lightning, thunder and a lot of rain as round after round of severe weather blew through the region. At least four people are dead in Tennessee,

Storms and heavy rains move into Middle Tennessee on Wednesday. According to the National Weather Service, some areas could see rainfall amounts as high as ten inches through Sunday.

Communities in Middle and West Tennessee are hunkering down as severe weather and inches of rain are expected through the weekend.

A conveyor-line of storms moving up from the south brought rain, flash flooding, large hail and multiple tornado warnings to Middle Tennessee
