Skywatchers across the North and East and Cumbria have shared their shots of a partial solar eclipse. The partial eclipse - when the Moon only covers part of the Sun - started at 10:07 GMT and finished at 12:00 on Saturday.

While not visible from Israel, people in much of Europe and North America watch a bite taken out of the sun as the moon crosses its path

The eclipse was visible Saturday across Europe, western Africa, eastern North America and northern Asia. During a partial solar eclipse, the moon passes between the sun and Earth. The moon casts a shadow on Earth and only partly blocks the sun, making it appear like a crescent.
