Samsung’s exciting new flagship launch is just a few weeks away, and promises an Android upgrade that’s the closest we’ve seen yet to iPhone, at least from a security and privacy perspective. Android 15 which hit Pixels late last year has already raised the bar, but Samsung will take this further when its One UI 7 is released alongside the S25.

Samsung typically unveils a new flagship Galaxy smartphone at the start of each year, and, true to form, has announced a Galaxy Unpacked event for Jan. 22. Unsurprisingly, the rumor mill is abuzz with speculation about the S25's looks,

Samsung’s big Galaxy S25 launch is right around the corner. The first Galaxy Unpacked event of 2025 is confirmed for January 22 at 1PM ET in San Jose, CA, where Samsung’s “Next Big Thing” (to borrow a 14-year-old marketing slogan) will be revealed.

In the case of the trade-in rebate, you could potentially pick up the S24 Ultra for just $350 if the device you hand over is valued highly enough to hit the max rebate. For the non-trade-in deal, you get a Galaxy S24 Ultra for just $799 upfront - which is lower than last year's Black Friday deal, for the record.

The new RAM, like the original Samsung wanted to use, is built on the LPDDR5X standard, the latest for mobile RAM. But by moving to the smaller 12nm process, the RAM should run cooler and need less power than the 13nm version. So Samsung's loss is the user's gain.

On January 22, Samsung will host its biannual Galaxy Unpacked Event where the company will announce its new line of 2025 Galaxy S smartphones. This is also when preorders go live. Samsung has finally confirmed the exact launch date for the Galaxy S25 and S25 Ultra. The tech giant has announced that Galaxy Unpacked will be taking place on Wednesday 22 January at 6pm GMT. If you pre-register your interest on the Samsung website, you’ll be able to claim £50 off the new handset when it is released.

These would include the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, Galaxy S25 Ultra, and a brand-new model called the Galaxy S25 Slim. However, if rumors from China are to be believed, the launch of the latter has been pushed back to May. Samsung may reveal the handset next week but it won't go on sale anytime soon.
