The Florida Panthers find themselves down 2-0 in their second-round Stanley Cup Playoff series against the Toronto Maple Leafs. After a 5-4 loss in Game 1 on the road, they returned with a better performance in Game 2—but still came up short, falling 4-3.

With the benefit of last change on home ice, Panthers coach Paul Maurice's matchup changes were the root cause of Toronto's Game 3 loss.

Aleksander Barkov scored in the first period for the Panthers after the Maple Leafs jumped out to an early 2-0 lead, a tally that helped spark Florida the rest of the game after the team looked flat in the opening six minutes. John Tavares scored twice for Toronto, while Matthew Knies opened scoring for the Maple Leafs 23 seconds into the game.
