Notre Dame is No. 1 in The Associated Press Top 25 women’s basketball poll for the first time since 2019. Texas moved up to second for its best ranking since 2017.

In the latest AP poll, the Irish have become the No. 1 team in the country. The Bruins, who previously had not lost a game this season, tumbled to No. 3 while Texas moved up to No. 2 after a win over LSU, now at No. 7. USC moved up two spots to No. 4, and UConn now is No. 5 after upsetting South Carolina, which is down to No. 6.

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are No. 1 in the AP Top 25 poll for the first time since 2019. They replaced UCLA after the Bruins suffered their first loss of the season against USC. Texas was another candidate to move to the top spot after overcoming a slow start and knocking off LSU on Sunday.
