The Yankees made another trade on Monday in what is shaping up to be an active deadline — though this time they were dealing a veteran away.
The Yankees have turned their attention to the pitching staff, in particular the bullpen, as Thursday's trade deadline draws near.

In his third MLB start, Yankees' right-hander Cam Schlittler lasted 4.1 innings, yielding three runs on seven hits and four walks, with five strikeouts, in a 4-2 loss to Tampa Bay.
No one should be surprised if they add one more bat before the deadline, preferably right-handed with the ability to play shortstop if necessary. Outside executives say the Yankees still have interest in obtaining a player offering something from the buffet of defense, righty hitting and/or speed.
The Yankees’ main focus has been on trying to play better, which they haven’t done consistently in a while. Since June 13, their 14-25 record is the third-worst in the game. Their bullpen had an atrocious 5.16 ERA over the span going into Monday.
