Parts of Mississippi could face tornadoes with winds in excess of 200 miles per hour along with hail over 2 inches wide on Saturday.

Tornado warning issued for Autauga County A tornado warning was issued for northwest Autauga County as well as Chilton and north Dallas counties until 9 p.m., the National Weather Service in Birmingham said on X,

According to AP, "At least three people were killed in central Alabama when multiple tornados swept across the state." Governor Kay Ivey also released a statement earlier Sunday talking about the devastation across the state.

At least 42 people were killed over the weekend when a severe storm swept through the Midwest and southern U.S. The system brought heavy rain, tornadoes and wildfires. CBS News national correspondent Dave Malkoff has the story of one home that was spared in Mississippi as tornadoes touched down.

The National Weather Service confirmed an EF-2 tornado hit Taylorsville, Mississippi, saying eight tornadoes impacted the area between Friday night and Saturday.
