New Orleans officials are promising unprecedented security for Mardi Gras 2025 following the recent Bourbon Street terrorist attack. Mayor LaToya Cantrell and NOPD Superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick announced during the Kings Day Celebration at Mardi Gras World that the city has been granted a SEAR 1 rating,

“Mardi Gras 2025 is going to be the safest ever,” Cantrell said. She also said the White House will send a security expert to check the city’s safety plans, identify weak spots, and review new barriers the city was adding to Bourbon Street before the attack.
