Juan Soto was introduced prior to the Mets home opener, while Pete Alonso was welcomed back on Friday afternoon at Citi Field.
After Lindor drew a one-out walk, Soto stepped to the plate having gone 0-for-2. Blue Jays starter Kevin Gausman hung a second-pitch sweeper right over the heart of the plate — and Soto didn’t miss. He hit a sharp liner to right field for a double, scoring Lindor from first, drawing an ovation from the crowd.
