NEW DELHI (AP) — India has only “paused” its military action and will “retaliate on its own terms” if there is any future terror attack on the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said Monday in his first public comments since a U.S.-brokered ceasefire over the weekend.

Noting that Pakistan was "deeply disappointed and frustrated" by India launching precision strikes on terror infrastructure, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said that Indian Armed Forces gave appropriate response to Islamabad's subsequent military aggression and damaged those airbases of the Pakistani Air Forces,

The military operations chiefs of India and Pakistan spoke by phone on Monday, the Indian army said, as New Delhi reopened airports and shares rose in both countries following a ceasefire that paused days of intense fighting last week.
