Houston is preparing for a rare bout of winter weather next week as an arctic cold front brings the potential for snow and sub-freezing temperatures. Forecasts indicate that temperatures will plunge below freezing by Monday,

Thousands of runners and walkers take to the streets of Houston this Sunday. Temperatures at the starting line will be in the mid-30s but it will feel like the upper-20s with the wind chill. Temperatures will warm to the lower-40s through the morning under sunny skies. It was actually colder last year.

Houston-area officials are urging caution among residents as the second arctic front of 2025 is set to bring a hard freeze and chances of wintery precipitation across the region starting on Jan. 20.
