A Southern California Edison tower that was being removed as part of an investigation into what caused the Eaton fire was removed after it made contact with power lines Thursday afternoon, officials said.

Southern California Edison transmission towers have been removed near the Eaton Fire burn scar for further examination.

The tower and another scheduled for dismantling will be analyzed as part of SCE’s probe into the cause of the deadly blaze.
