Rahm hopes to play on the DP World Tour and gain valuable Ryder Cup points this fall. But he has to pay fines first, something he doesn’t want to do.

According to Guy Kinnings, CEO of the DP World Tour, the appeals process is still in flux. Options include the internal appeals process, which is mainly used for disciplinary issues on the various tours, or the Sport Resolutions Panel, which heard the appeals of Ian Poulter, Adrian Otaegui and Justin Harding against the European Tour Group in 2022.

“Jon Rahm has a pending appeal against sanctions imposed on him and in accordance with the DP World Tour’s regulations, he is eligible to participate in the acciona Open de España presented by Madrid later this month,” a spokesman for the DP World Tour said in a statement.

Rahm submitted an appeal to the DP World Tour, thus paving the way for him to play this fall and keeping his Ryder Cup eligibility intact.
