The district sent KSHB 41 a statement on the death of Davis. "We are deeply saddened by the loss of Lance Corporal Donovan Davis, a cherished member of our Blue Valley Southwest 2020 graduating class.

Davis’ father, told KCTV5 that Donovan knew he wanted to be a Marine since he was a little boy. “He was proud to serve in the Marine Corps and loved being a crew chief,” Davis said.
