Coastal Carolina broke open a tie game with three runs in the eighth inning and the Chanticleers opened the College World Series with a 7-4 victory Friday.

With two outs and Wells Sykes on second base after a two-out double, Arizona coach Chip Hale elected to intentionally walk Coastal catcher Caden Bodine in favor of facing Sebastian Alexander, even though Bodine had stranded four runners in the second and fourth innings.
