World no.2 Alexander Zverev has continued his winning form with a solid 6-4 6-4 triumph against Andrey Rublev in his opening ATP Finals match.

After claiming ATP Masters 1000 titles in Rome and Paris and a runner-up finish at Roland-Garros, Zverev entered Turin as world No. 2 and ultimately lived up to the billing, edging past his opponent in two attritional sets.

Alexander Zverev scored a victory at the ATP Finals on Monday night. Alexander faced world no. 8 Andrey Rublev for the first time in a year and earned a 6-4, 6-4 win in an hour and 12 minutes. The Paris Masters champion played flawless tennis on serve and used his chances with both hands to seal the deal in no time and join Casper Ruud at the top of the group standings.
