Its monsoon season in Thailand. Be prepared for heavy shower, may not be the best time for sunny beach holiday. The rates will be lower. In small towns, many small resorts close down and boat transfers reduced. But Bangkok, Pattaya, phuket and other big cities will have tourists.
We are interested in visiting the Lao island of Donsao by taking the boat across from the Thai border. I read somewhere that you had to leave your passport somewhere before you entered Laos. Is this true or do I get to hold on to my passport? Thanks!
