Lovely for a quick stop. If you park by the port, it's a super-quick walk to the ruins. The views are very nice especially in spring and summer when the wildflowers are blooming. Full review by meganrW3464UC
How can I take a public bus or train to this castle from ( Black) from Tinnycross House B and B in Count Wicklow? thanks!
A:
Is Tinnycross in Co Kildare? If so you will have to get a bus to Dublin city centre and get the 133 Expressway bus to Wicklow. The 133 will get you from Dublin in about an hour and 30mins

I see that Tinnycross House is on the other side of Wicklow to the Black Castle. Unfortunately, there is no direct public transport across. If you hire a car, you can take a wonderful drive over the Wicklow Gap, visit Glendalough monastic settlement and continue on to the coast up to the Bkack Castle, just at Wicklow Town. Wicklow is a truly stunning county, with so much to do. You will definitely visit Blessington Lakes from where you are staying. You could perhaps find a Wicklow Tours bus that can take you to many of the best parts to visit.i know several private companies run them now; for example: Wild Wicklow Tours! The train to Wicklow Town runs in the other side from where you are staying..so from Dubkin down. I hope this helps! A bit confusing I know but your hosts should also be able to advise. Have a great stay in Wicklow; I know you will.

Note this is a RUIN basically two walls. It is all outdoors overlooking the harbour north and south to the lighthouse. From the harbour walk up steps and turn left. There is also a car park beside the big cannon. E icing the car park turn left and follow the road past the golf hole on the left. when you reach the main road turn left and follow that for another 500 yards to another car park on left. Below the car park is a cliff walk ...in a circle to the lighthouse and back or return to the main road and walk back along the golf course on that road back to the car park. About 40 mins altogether if walking briskly. There is also a Halpin Heritage trail walk in the town. There are severL hour long circle hill walks in the hills within 5 to 10 mins drive an a national Botanic garden fro free nearby.
