The jeep "Willis" drop you at the bottom of the valley. The horse is a good option as the hike is pretty steep to reach up the wax trees and doable on a cloudy day but would be difficult on a hot day. We hired the horses for 2 hours and the ride was pretty slow and you can request the guy to hand walk the horse because of your condition. If you do take 30mins or 45mins horse ride, they do walk the horses faster to catch up on time.

Hey thanks for the question. I was in salento for 6 day and there were days it was rain off and on, and there were days it would rain for a good half a day. Either way your trekking through mud. Some of my friends and I were just covered in mud, but it was still 100% worth it. Bring a good pair of hiking boots for traction but be mindful they will be covered in mud. I hope this helps.
