Great state park. Visitor centre has some neat interactive displays. Trails offer beautiful views. Trails are well marked. Washrooms were clean.Full review by Ashley P

Spent the day hiking the Dog Canyon Trail. It’s approx 5 miles to the top with 3400+ ft elevation gain. Hardest part of the climb is probably the last 1.5 miles after the “cave” like area. Glad we…Full review by clpayne

As others have said, the views are phenomenal. The park host was very friendly and welcoming. The water pressure fluctuates from pretty weak to adequate. Interesting if you are showering. Would def…Full review by Jeannette G

Hi, I've heard this is a great campsite but that there may be issues about the campsites not being level vis a vis an RV. Are some better than others? Thanks
A:
I'm sorry I can't answer this question since I don't have an RV. What I can say is there were plenty of campsites with RVs or similar vehicles parked on them.
Q:
Is this a park for camping/RVing? If so, how many sites are there?
A:
As Rocky stated, yes there are quite a few sites. The only thing I'd recommend is to look over the sites for the best level area possible. I really had to use a lot of leveling blocks here, …

Hi, What is the weather like in December? We were thinking of going there this December.
A:
I'm not 100% certain, but in the valley where the park is it should be in the 50s and 40s. If you go up to Cloudcroft (which I recommend) it'll be much colder and will most likely have snow.

My boyfriend, two dogs and I will be camping here at the end of May. We'll be stopping by White Sands, but was curious what are some good hiking trails in this area? We're experienced hikers but will probably want to dial it down a tad with the dogs and probable heat. Thanks!

Right there at Oliver Lee there is a trail that runs up the mountain about 10 miles round trip. there are parts that are pretty tough, but you dont have go all the way. At about 2.5 miles up is pretty easy and at that point there is a flat area where you can stop, picnic, run the dogs. May isn't too hot, usually, I have only been here two years. You can run up to Cloudcroft, at 9000 ft it is 20degrees cooler that Alamogordo. It is a 30min drive. Cloudcroft has a bunch of trails, and you have to go visit there anyway. Burro st is the main business drag in CC nice little stores etc.
